Indoor doors are hollow core doors , basically a frame with a 3mm presswood "skin" [ flat or molded ] stuck on the frame. Its lightweight and usually get painted after installation.  These doors cannot handle wetness and will not last 2 years if used as a exterior door. Interior doors price range R R300 - R 800  Installation time 1-2 hours and the lock and handle 1 extra hour. Painting the door + 2 hours. Obtaining the door for delivery +1 Hour. So there are a lot involved in replacing a door.

Exterior doors ar solid hardwood doors meant to withstand exposure to direct sun & rain. These are heavy doors and offer security that internal doors simply don't. Typical Meranti doors Price ainge R1500 - R3000

The most important thing for doors are good maintenance, propper paint /varnish  and never continue using a door that got swollen, as you will cause the seams of the door to become loose and allow water or more flex to penetrate the seams. This movement of seams destroy doors and will eventually become a flimsy unsecure door. Get the door reshaped or shaved with a planer asap and do sealing layer every 2 years.

A Door Carpenter tend to do regular repairs like :Fixing hinges, Replacing Handles, Locks and general additional security features like extra bolts,  slam locks and even Doggy door installations. 

A Door Handyman will typically also be able to do cement work at the door threshold, and wall framing the door sit in. Also dealing with security gates which can sometimes be in the way for a quick fix.   

Sliding doors repairs usually involve changing the wheels, adjusting the handles or replacing the lock. One should get the repairer in before to much damage is done to the aluminum door  lock catch area.  Wheels @ R250 a set and the service can range from R750 - R1200.

Shower door repairs usually involve changing the hinges or wheels. For a 3 panel door service set of new wheels [8 = R480] and the service takes 2-3 hours. Some repairs will charge extra if the panels are dirty.
